Stops rain/wind...finally!
Eric (Richmond, VA) 4/30/2014 6:04 AM
Ok, I got suckered into the fleece craze when I found a North Face on 75% off sale only to realize that it SUCKED at blocking wind and rain just soaked it. Trendy garbage. I decided to look for a light tactical jacket that actually functioned and found this Condor Phantom. Two weeks of wearing and it really does block rain and wind. For Spring weather here in VA, it's perfect and has all the pockets I need for my phone, IDs, EDC knife, etc. I'm 5'10", 158lbs and the medium fits great, but if you had a pot belly it might be too snug around the middle, but that's how it's supposed to be so it doesn't get in the way of a belt holster. My local shop threw in a free SWAT black American flag for the velcro side panels. It has a nice fleecy feeling inside and is great for your 40 - 60 degree days all by itself. Zipper at the bottom does take a bit of getting used to, but seems to be holding up fine.

Awesome jacket for the price
Matticus (Washington) 12/11/2013 6:42 PM
I have had this jacket for several months and have held off on writing a review until I could use the jacket to it's full potential. One recent usage for this jacket was on my trek to the top of Mount St Helens recently, white out conditions, 10 degree weather, 35+ Mph winds, it worked amazing at the top, kept me dry and the wind away. In the recent cold of 10-20 degrees, it has kept me warm (with proper layering). It's great by it's self for 40+ but below, I add the Alpha Microfleece or the same. I wear this jacket on all my outdoor activities, camping, fishing, hiking, climbing, tactical athlete events, military field problems, etc. The quality of the jacket was far better than most of the bad reviews have you believe. For the price you can't go wrong. I have used it extensively in the Pacific North West and it has stood up to some of the worst conditions it has to show here. The only downfalls are like previously noted; - The zipper could be re-designed alot better, it is hard to zip sometimes, and impossible with gloves. - The waist area should have a draw string, because wearing this jacket makes it seem like I am pregnant. - The sizes do fit small, I have always worn a Medium, I am 6'0 180lbs and Athletic/Slim build, but after reading reviews ordered a large; and the Large fit perfect, I can also layer with it not being to snug inside. - If it was Made in America and had at minimum some type of warranty, it would make this even better. Other than those, I Have had no complaints what-so-ever. I will continue to recommend this product to others.

Great Intermediate Jacket!
M2 (Texas) 12/10/2012 7:27 AM
I bought one of these to accompany the Condor Summit that I own. The latter is a great jacket but a bit too much for most of the year here in south-central Texas (however, it's great when I travel to colder climates!). The Phantom is a better option for this part of the country. It's warm but breathes well, very windproof and with the ability to unzip the sides, it's extremely versatile! While it doesn't have as many pockets as the Summit, it has more than enough for my needs. The only cons I can think of are like the Summit, it could use a more beefier main zipper and the older versions of this had slots behind the sleeve Velcro to put pens in, the one I got doesn't. Outside of those two minor issues, it is an excellent jacket and holds up well! I am definitely happy with my purchase and highly recommend the Phantom to anyone looking for a good, intermediate tactical jacket!

Civilian Tactical Team Leader

Great looking jacket, simple with good features. Definitely needs to come in smaller sizes, as the small is still quite big. Anyone shorter than 5'8 would probably look like they're wearing their dad's jacket. Otherwise would make a great jacket for the team.
